Phillips, editors of ©McClure's© magazine, to add to the popular knowledge of Abraham Lincoln, this book is the result of the author's efforts, writing thousands of letters and traveling thousands of miles to collect the material used herein. Thus, the work can be considered one in which the whole country has participated.
