The Only Prayer

Witnessing the accidental death of his firstborn son causes Dr. Carter Giles, a physics professor, to abandon his religious faith. When his research partner dies mysteriously, Dr. Giles attempts to escape his unbearable grief by focusing his research on a possible link between physics and metaphysics. He unearths The Prayer of Solomon and of Moses, the same prayer lost by Jewish mystics centuries earlier.

Rumors of the prayer's existence cause clandestine groups of Catholics and Mormons to search ruthlessly for what they are certain will prove God's existence and validate their particular beliefs. Julia Barlow, a psychic, and Winston Tuckberry, a leader of a small international society, help protect Giles from religious leaders who will not let anything--or anyone--stand in their way of tracking down the prayer.

Giles is determined to avoid a global religious war, and he is shocked at what he discovers while seeking the truth: the prayer's secret could destroy the foundations of both religion and science.
