The Palm Springs Tales: Book Three (Happily Ever After) begins less than a year after the climactic events ending Book Two. They continue to affect the residents of Estado Caballeros as they move towards yet more excitement and the end of the Tales. Along the way they are joined by the President; a mafia hit man; a sinister priest and several drag queens vying for the title "Queen of the Desert."
