Descriere
The book seeks to investigate how legal and social norms influenced the structuration of fathers’ positions, authority and power—a structuration embedded in the family context, the inner workings of the household, and the various social and political spaces outside the home – over a long period. The individual chapters offer in-depth looks at important areas where paternal power and authority were discursively modelled, established via legal acts, and implemented in social practice.
