Notă biografică

Poet, philosopher, and artist, Kahlil Gibran (1883–1931) was born in Lebanon and moved to Boston when he was twelve. Following a period of study in Paris, Gibran moved to New York, and it was here that he was to compose The Prophet. He died in New York in 1931, at the age of 48.

Professor Suheil Bushrui is currently Director of the University of Maryland Kahlil Gibran Research and Studies Project, and is co-author (with Joe Jenkins) of the leading biography of Gibran, Kahlil Gibran: Man and Poet, also published by Oneworld.
