The Reign of Adad-nīrārī III: An Historical and Ideological Analysis of An Assyrian King and His Times: Cuneiform Monographs, cartea 45
Autor Luis Robert Siddallen Limba Engleză Hardback – 10 iul 2013
"Scholars working on the Neo-Assyrian period cannot afford to miss Siddall's fresh assessment of the evidence for Adad-nirari's reign. He offers a re-evaluation of several texts but perhaps more importantly, he proposes a few methodological innovations that shed new light on the history of Assyria in the 9th century." Bill T. Arnold (Asbury Theological Seminary)

Recenzii
'Siddall’s command over the material is impressive, as he is able to draw out the main points of contention, identifying strengths and weaknessesof previous hypotheses, often suggesting innovative and well-argued solutions. The book is much more than a study of Adad-nīrārī III and its value lies in a great part in the fact that it is a synthesis of all available primary evidence and secondary literature for this period. Siddall’s prose is accessible and compelling, and his use of a list format to lay out major arguments or problems, especially when the material is particularly complicated, ensures that those not familiar with the material will easily follow his discussions. (...) The author is commended for providing a succinct yet comprehensive work and a much-needed contribution to the field of Neo-Assyrian studies."
