'Finally...a book just about Early Phonics! This no-nonsense text provides a wide range of practical ideas to support early phonic development. Whether you're based here in the UK or elsewhere in the world, this is a must-read!’
Matthew Klimcke, Education Consultant
‘Rose Blair draws upon her extensive work in Early Years settings and classrooms to draw together the statutory requirements in relation to the early development of literacy and provision that supports the foundations of later, proficient reading. Blair offers accessible theory alongside lessons from classrooms and settings across the country. It is refreshing to see a book give such generous space to practitioner voice, too often neglected in writing on this vitally important topic. Blair makes clear her commitment to inclusivity. She offers a range of practical solutions to the question of how best to meet the needs of diverse cohorts, and - like a sharply enunciated sound - makes crystal clear the critical importance of a rich and empowering foundation of early language development.’
Martin Galway, National Literacy Trust
‘A wonderfully informative book for supporting your underpinning knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), recognising the value of play based learning and enabling environments when teaching Early Phonics to young children. This book can offer practical strategies, solutions and useful resources to assist inclusive educators and practitioners in their role in supporting children to master the vital skills they need and develop in the Early Phonics.’

Descriere
The Right Start to Phonics shows readers how they can support children in gaining the skills they need to listen with accuracy, to differentiate between, manipulate and understand the sounds we hear. This experience will give them the knowledge and understanding needed to hear letter sounds and blend them together to eventually read words.
