The Therapist’s Notebook for Supervision and Training: Activities and Exercises to Improve Effectiveness with Clients, Students, Trainees, and Clinicians
Autor Bob Bertolinoen Limba Engleză Paperback – 21 sep 2023
The book is divided into three parts, including "Structuring and Organizing the Therapeutic Encounter," and contains a total of thirty-seven adaptable activities. Each activity is specifically designed both to introduce students and practicing clinicians to the most current research around clinical effectiveness and apply that information to various populations and settings. Unlike other books which incorporate activities and exercises, the activities in this volume are interconnected, and earlier exercises serve as building blocks to later ones.
Replete with extensive and practical guidance, this book is essential for those seeking to expand their therapeutic practice and improve client outcomes, whether as a student, clinician, or supervisor.

"The Therapist’s Notebook for Supervision and Training represents a comprehensive, inclusive, and organized system for preparing student therapists of every variety for their practicums, pre-internships, internships, and postmasters or postdoctoral internships. If you are working in a graduate program in psychology, counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy, and are interested in supporting your students in maximizing their practicum, pre-internship and/or internship experiences, then this is the guide to get! If you are engaged as a training director in a provider site and you accept interns and practicum students, as well as wanting to improve client outcomes with therapeutic encounters, then this guide is indispensable in getting the most for and out of providing successful therapy, supervision, and training experiences!"
Bill Heusler, PsyD, core faculty, PsyD Program, Antioch University Seattle
"With a strong concentration on enhancing therapist performance, The Therapist’s Notebook for Supervision and Training is an excellent guide in learning how to help students become better clinicians. Bertolino has provided a real gift to supervisors who want to provide the very best field experience for their trainees. With an abundance of first-rate exercises and activities focusing on increasing therapist effectiveness, this book is an indispensable asset to the clinical training experience."
Paul J. Leslie, Ed.D., author of The Art of Creating a Magical Session: Key Elements for Transformative Psychotherapy
"In this book Bob combines his deep knowledge of therapist development as well as experience as a professional musician and accomplished athlete, to present practical and engaging supervision activities. I can say from personal experience that these ideas can help supervision focus on creating the music of therapy, instead of only talking about songs."
