The Wrath of the Rainforest

Autor Guenter Memmert
en Limba Engleză Paperback
The Wrath of the Rainforest is an entertaining and intriguing story with memorable characters and elements of adventure, romance, and the supernatural. It is a story of tender love, betrayal and new found love. The background is Indonesia with its rich history and culture and its overwhelming nature. Brandy moves with her husband Eric from Los Angeles to Indonesia. Fresh out of college, Eric is offered the position of production manager for a start-up pencil factory in Jakarta. The general manager of the company, Charlie Wong, a Chinese from Singapore, introduces Brandy and Eric to the wonders of Indonesia. Although the country is an economic powerhouse, it abounds with mystical stories and tales. Ghosts and spirits are part of everyday life and are as real as trees, mountains, rivers, and animals. Brandy, Eric and Charlie are modern young people with a Western education and do not believe in the supernatural but after several encounters with ghosts and spirits they begin to ask themselves whether there is something beyond our superficial world. One day Eric has an encounter with a spirit and shortly afterward meets in a young lady the real live avatar of this spirit. This encounter changes his character and his personality and leads to horrific events that change the lives of all three protagonists. With a shipment from Indonesia a ghost from the rainforest is even transferred to Los Angeles where the apparitions continue. With the help of Charlie Wong, who is oscillating between ridiculing and believing in ghosts, Brandy sets out to get to the bottom of a series of events that cannot be explained by our so-called modern mindset.
