The Book of Genesis chapters 37 - 50 provides information about the generations of Jacob who was also named Israel. It includes details on Joseph and his dreams, Judah and Thamar, Joseph's imprisonment in Egypt plus his rise to rule Egypt for Pharaoh, Israel and his sons traveling to Egypt and prospering there, Jacob's death, Joseph's death, and the fact that the sons of Israel remained in Egypt at that time. This book includes verses translated from the Greek old covenant writing, sometimes referred to as the Septuagint. Additionally, some comparisons to the Hebrew text are provided.
