(Heat Power) in 1987 from Jadavpur University, he completed his Ph.D. in the area of heat transfer from Sambalpur University in 1994 and joined University of BW Hamburg, Germany, where he did his post-doctoral research in the area of plate and liquid metal heat exchangers. He has published four books and more than 300 research papers. His current research interests include heat transfer in nanofluids, microfluidics, biological heat transfer, nanoparticle mediated drug delivery in cancer cells, heat exchangers, boiling in mini/microchannels, fuel cells, jet instabilities, heat transfer in porous media and computational fluid dynamics.
Dr. Dhiman Chatterjee is currently a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, India. He received his B.E. (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, and M.S. and Ph.D. from IISc, Bangalore, India. He worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Delaware, USA, before joining IIT Madras in 2004. His area of research includes bubble dynamics and cavitation and turbomachines. He has published 75 papers in journals and international conferences. At IIT Madras, he is involved in teaching courses like turbomachines, cavitation, energy conversion system, and incompressible fluid flow.
Textul de pe ultima copertă
This comprehensive textbook highlights features of two phase flows and introduces the readers to flow patterns and flow maps. It covers a wide range of fundamental and complex subjects focusing on phase change processes like boiling, condensation or cavitation, and boiling phenomenon starting from pool boiling curves to heat transfer under nucleate boiling, film, and flow boiling. It also discusses themes such as numerical techniques for solving boiling and condensation as well as equipment used in industry for evaporation, boiling, and condensation. It includes pedagogical aspects such as end-of-chapter problems and worked examples to augment learning and self-testing. This book is a valuable addition for students, researchers, and practicing engineers.
