Hugh Ashton was born in the United Kingdom, and moved to Japan in 1988, living in the historic town of Kamakura, a little to the south of Yokohama with his wife, Yoshiko, before returning to live in Lichfield in 2016. He is best known for his Sherlock Holmes stories, which have been hailed as some of the most authentic pastiches on the market, and have received favourable reviews from Sherlockians and non-Sherlockians alike.
