Autor Tim Hursten Limba Engleză Hardback – 4 aug 2017
The ideas and guidance draw on a wealth of experience, providing classroom activities and free online resources, which can be combined with different teaching approaches. A range of appendices provides teachers with real-life case studies and examples and templates for supporting pupils with SEND. Offering strategies that are specific to the context of English teaching, this book will enable teachers and their teaching assistants to:
- develop pupils’ understanding by engaging multi-sensory approaches;
- ensure all pupils are able to participate fully in lessons and achieve success;
- design and use individual plans for pupils with SEND;
- assess and adapt content and resources when differentiating materials for pupils with a wide range of learning needs;
- use formative assessments to measure learning and inform planning.

Recenzii
I do not own the current edition of this book as I was not aware of its existence until now. I would have bought it if I'd been aware of its existence, as I would have found a set of subject-specific guides to personalisation most useful in my work training and advising secondary and primary colleagues.
In my view, the strengths of the current edition are that:
Pippa Whittaker - City Academy Bristol; Inclusion Department.
In my view, the strengths of the current edition are that:
- It is the only book on the market that addresses the teaching of young people with SEN in English
- The language of the text is clear and direct, and avoids overuse of jargon
- The layout is accessible and visually appealing (eg there is effective use of text boxes, bullet points and one colour), yet sufficiently detailed to be of use to even experienced English teachers
- The explanation of various SEND is clear
- The edition includes really clear and useful strategies for differentiation and access, with picture to illustrate key points
- The case studies of pupils are useful and help readers to see the advice in context.
