Recenzii
I do not own the current edition of this book as I was not aware of its existence until now. I would have bought it if I'd been aware of its existence, as I would have found a set of subject-specific guides to personalisation most useful in my work training and advising secondary and primary colleagues.
In my view, the strengths of the current edition are that:
Pippa Whittaker - City Academy Bristol; Inclusion Department.
In my view, the strengths of the current edition are that:
- It is the only book on the market that addresses the teaching of young people with SEN in English
- The language of the text is clear and direct, and avoids overuse of jargon
- The layout is accessible and visually appealing (eg there is effective use of text boxes, bullet points and one colour), yet sufficiently detailed to be of use to even experienced English teachers
- The explanation of various SEND is clear
- The edition includes really clear and useful strategies for differentiation and access, with picture to illustrate key points
- The case studies of pupils are useful and help readers to see the advice in context.
