Agroforestry is a system of land use in which both agriculture and forestry production are intermingled. All over the world, farmers have had a long tradition of planting trees on their fields and pastures. The major objective of this book is to review the history of agroforestry development in the region and this progress is found to be slower than in other regions of North lmerica in spite of various benefits that could be generated from agroforestry practices. This book reviews the state of agroforestry in the Prairie Provinces of Canada and describes various types of agroforestry that have developed historically.
