This book illustrates the current state of China’s economic and trade relations from the perspective from different countries in the Xi Jinping era. 
  
The content is divided into five parts, the first of which traces the development of the Chinese economy starting with the reforms of the 1980s. The second part notes some distinctive elements of China’s positioning in the global economy, while the third describes the state of relations between the United States and China under the Trump presidency. The fourth part focuses on diplomatic and economic equilibria in East Asia, Central and Southern Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. In turn, the last part addresses relations between China and various European countries.

Notă biografică

Lorenzo Bencivelli is an economist at the International Economic Analysis and Relations Department of the Bank of Italy. In his current position, he analyzes China’s economy and policy. He also studies foreign direct investments policies. Prior to this position, he served for four years as Financial Attaché at the Italian Embassy in Beijing. He graduated from Bocconi University (Milan) and holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Turin. 
  
Flavia Tonelli is a sinologist and analyst at the International Economic Analysis and Relations Department of the Bank of Italy. In her current position, her focus is on analyzing China’s political, cultural and geopolitical environment. She graduated from the University of Rome La Sapienza.
