Recenzii
'As the world struggles with increasing threats to sustainability caused by population growth, overuse of fresh water resources, depletion of biodiversity, reliance on non-renewable energy sources, rising prices of food and climate disruptions, there is an urgent need for a Plan for the Planet. Everyone would benefit from reading this book.' William. N. Ryerson, President, Population Media Centre and CEO, Population Institute, USA 'A long term plan is as important as good design. Both are essential tools for our sustainable future. Plan for the Planet provides this and more. An intelligent review of how we are performing as a 'global village', where the priorities are and how we can collectively make the greatest advances with the least delay. We all have a significant part to play, this purpose built management plan defines the roles, strategies and best practice methods required to make it happen. Essential reading.' Greg Campbell_DesignOz / Convenor, Society for Responsible Design 'This is a controversial subject that polarises opinions. Much of what is written elsewhere is opinion rather than substance. Here is a book that deserves attention because the arguments are supported by clearly identifying data that can not only be independently checked because it is clearly set out in a tabulated form. The advantage is that it makes it possible for the reader to make eventual adjustments that will become necessary through future events and developments. A book worth buying and a book worth keeping.' Dr Peter Starbuck (on Amazon.co.uk)
Descriere
The scale of the global issues we are facing today: unsustainable population growth; climate change; energy supplies; water and food supplies; planet sustainability and biodiversity; extreme poverty; global health; universal education; conflict management and financing sustainability are more daunting than ever. Nevertheless these issues must be addressed-in a coordinated, global manner. That's why the authors of Developing a Plan for the Planet outline an approach to achieving change which can be adopted and implemented at every level - government, business, community and as an individual.
