Don Quixote
Autor Miguel de Cervantesen Limba Engleză Paperback – 27 apr 2018
Within its absorbing re-creation of the world during Cervantes' time, this parody of chivalric romances and epic of heroic idealism forms a strikingly contemporary narrative. The author is often credited with inventing the concept of the novel, addressing himself to the readers rather than the characters or the action. This edition of his landmark work presents the acclaimed 1755 Tobias Smollett translation.

Descriere
A parody of chivalric romances, this story of an elderly knight and his loyalsquire offers a strikingly modern narrative that also reflects the historicalrealities of 17th-century Spain.
Notă biografică
Spanish author Miguel de Cervantes (1547-1616) fought against the Ottoman Empire and was wounded at the Battle of Lepanto. Captured by pirates, he was enslaved for five years until a ransom secured his release. While working as a civil servant, he produced poetry and plays that were largely ignored but the 1605 publication of part I of Don Quixote, followed by the 1615 publication of part II, ensured his lasting fame.
Recenzii
Harrison's language captures the style of the original.... Ambrus's artwork is well suited to the story; he captures the personalities of both knight and squire without reducing them to caricatures.
