Inflammatory Response in Cardiovascular Surgery

Editat de Edmo Atique Gabriel, Sthefano Atique Gabriel
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 9 iun 2015
In recent years, The impact of the inflammatory response in cardiovascular surgery has been a focus of much attention within the field of cardiac surgery. Despite that, scientific research on the topic is still lacking in the health science literature. To develop the bank of information available to all involved in the field, the Editors of this book have assembled a group of leading experts to investigate the most current and exciting topics related to inflammation and cardiovascular surgery. As such Inflammatory Response in Cardiovascular Surgery is vital reading for all involved in the management of cardiovascular surgical patients, such as cardiovascular and transplant surgeons, anesthesiologists, intensive care physicians, cardiovascular and vascular fellows, and researchers.

Recenzii

From the reviews:
“This book covers the current understanding of the inflammatory response to cardiovascular surgery. … Primarily written for practitioners in the field of cardiovascular surgery, this is also an excellent book for students and trainees. … This is a very good book that covers all aspects of a topic that is important for the current care of patients and in advancing the field. It is a unique and useful addition to the field.” (Michael Bates, Doody’s Book Reviews, October, 2013)

Textul de pe ultima copertă

Much attention has been drawn to the impact of the inflammatory response in cardiovascular surgery. Minimizing deleterious effects of cardiovascular surgery consists of understanding the pathogenesis of the inflammatory response and how to modulate it using medical strategies and especially specific operative approaches. Despite the attention on this response, the concept has been underestimated and overlooked, and scientific information on it is still lacking in the medical literature.

Inflammatory Response in Cardiovascular Surgery includes the most recent and exciting topics regarding the relationship between inflammation and cardiovascular surgery. It provides comprehensive instruction to assist understanding of the inflammatory mechanisms involved and clarifies the basic immunologic and physiologic concepts. The book then includes discussion of the neuroendocrine response, pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and mechanisms of inflammation, while emphasizing the impact on surgery and pathologic aspects. As such this textbook will be vital reading for all involved in the management of cardiovascular surgical patients, such as cardiovascular and transplant surgeons, anesthesiologists, intensive care physicians, cardiovascular and vascular fellows, and researchers.
