This research report illustrates the impact of MIS/IT upon middle managers in the specific organisational context of the NHS.

Data was gathered across three hospital case studies via 64 interviews with executive managers, middle managers and doctors.

The report examines the involvement of middle managers in the development of MIS/IT, the impact of the subsequent MIS/IT upon their role, and any training needs for middle managers as a result of the implementations of MIS/IT.
