An educational programme in cultural-historical museums is for teenagers with migration experience interesting if a central element of it is their own personal experience. An essential condition for developing interest is the satisfaction of the basic psychological needs for competence, autonomy and relatedness. An act of interest excels in the possibility for the teenagers to independently develop their own interpretation, their own "story", of the specific museum context. Processes of historical formation of meaning are marked by a positive-affirmative use, a creation of meaning through history, which reaches its goal in building a positive relation to foreign cultures.
