Despite what others have said, I enjoyed this novel! Was it a tad bit tedious at times? Yes, but I still loved reading about our Anne. I do wish that there was more of Gilbert in the novel, however the rest of the series is all about their lives together, so I don't begrudge Anne's adventures in this one at all. I have no idea why some people said that she 'meddled' in other people's affairs. It was simply her compassionate and humorous heart that compelled her to help and advise her 'kindred spirits'. There were some funny stories in here, and it was simply lovely to spend time with Anne. I did miss all of Anne's old friends like Diana and all the rest of the people at Avonlea, but I think that the reason Montgomery didn't include all those people was to show that Anne had grown up. And although she will forever be friends with the people from her childhood, she is also constantly making new friends and meeting kindred spirits. Overall, although this was a bit slow, I'm glad that I read it. Now onto book 5!
