Recenzii
I consider this collection of essays about moving school libraries into the 21st century the most important school library book of 2007. It is important to read and talk about this book and take action.
Change is the constant in today's educational institutions, and this resource supplies the tools and methodology needed to enable school librarians to become skilled change agents..The authors provide an excellent resource for all school library media specialists. Every chapter deals with cutting-edge concerns for today's schools, and the authors deal with the topics in clear, concise prose, presenting constructive information and concrete examples..Whether a librarian wishes to become a change agent or wants to understand and effectively deal with change, this book is a superb information source.
Beginning with an explanation of what a change agent is and moving through such topics as evidence based practice and standards based education, this professional selection gives an excellent overview of how library media specialists can not only keep up with current educational thought, but also lead the way to better schools..The theme of constant improvement in all areas comes through very strongly. The book provides not only the why, but also the how. Index. Recommended.
