Uncle Wiggily's Travels

Autor Howard R. Garis
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 30 apr 2008

You know that when Uncle Wiggily Longears, the old rabbit gentleman, started out to seek his fortune, he had to travel many weary miles -- but before he could get too weary, he ran smack-dab into more surprising adventures than a farmer's boy has holes in his overalls.

First he set out at night -- and heard a weird noise from a tree. ""Whoo-whooo " My goodness, if it isn't Uncle Wiggily " cried the owl in surprise. "What are you doing out so late, I'd like to know?"

"Waiting for a moonbeam, so I can see if there is any gold for my fortune at the end of it." That was the old rabbit's answer

Uncle Wiggily has even more crazy notions . . . and before he knows it, he is deep into adventures with a red squirrel, a brown wren, and then a July bug

Notă biografică

Howard Roger Garis (1873 - 1962) was an American author, best known for a series of books, most books he published under his own name but in Baseball Joe he published under Lester Chadwick, that featured the character of Uncle Wiggily Longears, an engaging elderly rabbit. Garis and his wife were possibly the most prolific children's authors of the early 20th century. Many of his books were illustrated by Lansing Campbell. Garis was born in Binghamton, New York. He and his spouse Lilian Garis both worked as reporters for the Newark Evening News. He did some work on the side for WNJR also in Newark.
