Recenzii
Sarah McFarland's Ecocollapse Fiction and Cultures of Extinction is another compelling addition to [its] field. What marks this book as special is how McFarland pays close attention to the most dismal and excruciating aspects of such fictions ... McFarland's skill in guiding us through the limits of the liveable and the readable enables a reckoning with what she identifies as the undoing of "human exceptionalism" (p. 3).
This book speaks to our generation's sense of precarity, our awareness that what we do to the planet we do to ourselves as well, like few others. McFarland's deconstruction of the myth of human exceptionalism is a crucial message for our species-it is a potential lifeline during the COVID-19 pandemic.
