In this issue of Clinics in Sports Medicine, guest editor Dr. Siobhán M. Statuta brings her considerable expertise to the topic of Mental Health Considerations in the Athlete. Many athletes struggle with mental health symptoms and disorders, and often do not openly speak of this due to the stigma surrounding mental health, as well as fear of consequences if others were to be made aware. Mental wellbeing, as a critical component of overall health, is an area that is imperative to assess, screen, and treat to allow athletes to live overall fruitful lives.
