Notă biografică

Li Guo, Ph.D. (1994), Yale University, is Lecturer in the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations, The University of Chicago. He was educated in China, Yemen, Egypt and the USA and has published on Mamluk historiography, Arabic literature and language pedagogy.

Descriere

This is the second part of a study and partial edition (1297-1302), with annotated translation, of Al-Yūnīnī's (d. 1326) Chronicle, one of the most significant sources of the early Mamluk period. Various issues concerning early Mamluk historiography are also explored.
