Advances and Challenges in Parametric and Semi-parametric Analysis for Correlated Data: Proceedings of the 2015 International Symposium in Statistics: Lecture Notes in Statistics, cartea 218

Editat de Brajendra C. Sutradhar
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 16 iun 2016
This proceedings volume contains eight selected papers thatwere presented in the International Symposium in Statistics (ISS) 2015 OnAdvances in Parametric and Semi-parametric Analysis of Multivariate, TimeSeries, Spatial-temporal, and Familial-longitudinal Data, held in St. John’s,Canada from July 6 to 8, 2015. The main objective of the ISS-2015 was thediscussion on advances and challenges in parametric and semi-parametric analysisfor correlated data in both continuous and discrete setups. Thus, as areflection of the theme of the symposium, the eight papers of this proceedingsvolume are presented in four parts. Part I is comprised of papers examiningElliptical t Distribution Theory. In Part II, the papers cover spatial andtemporal data analysis. Part III is focused on longitudinal multinomial modelsin parametric and semi-parametric setups. Finally Part IV concludes with apaper on the inferences for longitudinal data subject to a challenge ofimportant covariates selection from a set of large number of covariatesavailable for the individuals in the study.

Notă biografică

Brajendra C.Sutradhar is an Honorary Research Professor at Memorial University, St. John's,and an Adjunct Research Professor at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. Heis also a University Research Professor. This University Research Professortitle was awarded to him by Memorial University in 2004 for his outstandingresearch in Statistical Science. Memorial University confers this prestigioustitle to at most two professors in any one year. Professor Sutradhar haspublished 126 papers in statistics journal in the area of familial and longitudinaldata analysis with bio-statistical and econometric applications, multivariateestimation theory, time series analysis in both continuous and discrete setups, and complex sampling estimation theory for longitudinal survey data. He hasserved for 3 years as a member of the advisory committee on statistical methodsin Statistics Canada. He has served as an associate editor for six years for Canadian Journal ofStatistics and forfour years for the Journal of Environmentaland Ecological Statistics. He is an elected member of the InternationalStatistical Institute and a fellow of the American Statistical Association.Professor Sutradhar was awarded 2007 distinguished service award of StatisticsSociety of Canada for his many years of services to the society including hisspecial services for society's annual meetings.
Professor Sutradhar is author of the books: (1) Dynamic Mixed Models for Familial LongitudinalData, 2011; and (2) LongitudinalCategorical Data Analysis, 2014, published by Springer, New York. Also, heedited the special issue of the Canadian Journal of Statistics (2010, Vol. 38,June Issue, John Wiley) and the Lecture Notes in Statistics (2013, Vol. 211,Springer), with selected papers from two symposiums: International Symposium inStatistics, 2009 (ISS-2009) and ISS-2012, respectively.

Caracteristici

Offers clear differences between structural and longitudinal correlations for the analysis of repeated multivariate data in different setups Uses parametric longitudinal correlation models unlike the existing studies Provides a comprehensive presentation by bringing together spatial-temporal and familial-longitudinal data analysis both for continuous and discrete data Includes supplementary material: sn.pub/extras
