The opening chapter focuses on the foot, first providing information about chronic foot and lower leg injuries, then introducing arch taping procedures, low dye technique methods, the X-arch taping method, and more. Proceeding chapters address specific taping and bracing procedures for the ankle, lower leg, knee, hip, thigh, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, and digits. Through the various taping and bracing procedures, students learn about the mechanisms of common injuries to these areas of the body. Philip Pavilionis is a lecturer in the School of Community Health Sciences, as well as the clinical instructor for Nevada Sports Medicine, at the University of Nevada, Reno. He holds a M.S. in exercise science from California University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in health science from the University of Nevada, Reno. His experiences as a former athlete, coach, and athletic trainer at every level of sport enable him to successfully relate to athletes, enhance their methods of physical conditioning, and progress the sports rehabilitation process to a successful outcome.
