Recenzii

"Anyone interested in the rise of the East Asian states, should read this book. It focuses on the role of higher education in the development of these societies and in their growing economic power. It is written lucidly, making it clear how the higher education systems in East Asia are now an integral part of economic, political and cultural globalisation. It outlines the critical challenges these systems now face and how they seek to address them. All too quickly we shall know how successful they have been." - Hugh Lauder, Professor, University of Bath, UK
"The great global transformation of the last twenty years is the rise of the East Asian knowledge economies, and Ka Ho Mok's The Quest for Entrepreneurial Universities in East Asia is the best book on higher education in the region. Authoritative, explanatory, critical and readable. Highly recommended." - Simon Marginson, Joint Editor-in-Chief, Higher Education, and Professor, Institute of Education, University of London, UK
"Facilitated with rich indigenous intellectual traditions, recent higher education development in East Asian societies has been remarkable. Many questions, however, remain. This volume is thus highly timely to address a number of urgent issues, both theoretical and practical, based solidly on East Asian contemporary practices. A major feature of this work is Professor Mok's extraordinary capacity to control the differing situations in various societies to capture and theorize their shared experiences." - Rui Yang, Professor, The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong
